Root Canal Treatment in Sector 48, Gurgaon

Dental operatory at Denz Aesthetics, Vipul World, Sector 48, Gurgaon

Root canal treatment in Sector 48, Gurgaon is part of everyday dentistry at Denz Aesthetics, and its purpose is simple: to keep a tooth that would otherwise have to come out. The infected nerve inside the tooth is cleaned away, the canals are sealed, and the tooth is usually protected with a crown. Most people are more worried beforehand than they turn out to need to be.

Signs that point to a root canal

  • Pain that lingers after something hot or cold, or wakes you at night
  • Pain when you bite on one particular tooth
  • A small pimple or swelling on the gum beside a tooth
  • A tooth that has turned darker after a knock

Some infected teeth cause no pain and only show on an X-ray. Equally, not every toothache needs a root canal. Decay caught early can often be dealt with by a filling, which is why the examination comes first.

What is happening inside the tooth

Each tooth has a soft core of nerve and blood vessels, called the pulp. Deep decay, a crack or an old large filling can let bacteria reach it. Once infected, the pulp cannot heal by itself, and the infection can spread to the bone at the root tip. An antibiotic may calm a flare-up, but it will not clear the source.

How the treatment runs

  1. X-ray. This shows the shape of the roots and how far the infection has gone.
  2. Cleaning. Under local anaesthetic, the pulp is removed and the canals are shaped and disinfected. Most people say it feels much like having a filling.
  3. Sealing. The canals are filled and closed. Some teeth are finished in one sitting, while infected or complicated teeth may need a second visit.
  4. Crown. Back teeth in particular need one, because a root-treated tooth is more brittle than it was.

When a tooth cannot be saved

If too little sound tooth is left, or a crack runs down the root, you will be told so plainly. Because the surgeon works at the same clinic, the extraction and any implant can be planned without starting over elsewhere.

Afterwards

Some tenderness for a few days is normal, especially when chewing on that side. Do not bite hard on the tooth until the crown is on. Call if swelling grows or the pain gets worse.

If a tooth is troubling you, call +91 98182 79717 or send a WhatsApp message. The clinic is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm.

Frequently asked questions

Is a root canal painful?

It is done under local anaesthetic, so most people feel pressure and not pain. The ache that brought you in usually eases once the infected pulp is gone.

Can it be finished in one visit?

Sometimes. A straightforward tooth can be done in one sitting, while an infected or complex tooth may need two. The crown is a separate step.

Do I really need a crown afterwards?

Back teeth nearly always do, because they take heavy biting forces and a treated tooth is more likely to crack. Front teeth sometimes manage with a filling.

My tooth stopped hurting. Can I cancel?

Pain stopping does not mean the infection has gone. The nerve may have died while the infection carries on, so have it checked.
