Forehead and frown lines
These lines come from years of expression. Botox relaxes the muscle so that the skin above it can smooth out. The art is in keeping your eyebrows moving naturally. It typically lasts three to four months.
Around the eyes
Crow's feet also respond to Botox. Fine crepey lines that stay when your face is at rest are a skin problem, and treatment such as mesotherapy may do more for them.
Cheeks and the lines beside the nose
When cheeks lose volume, the lines beside the nose deepen. Filling the line alone can look heavy, so volume is often restored higher up, in the cheek, with the bone and fat underneath read first. Fillers last longer than Botox, depending on the product and where it is placed.
Lips
Fillers can restore shape and hydration to lips that have thinned. The aim is lips that look like yours on a good day. If your teeth have worn down or moved, that may be changing your lips, and it is worth looking at that too.
Jawline and mid-face
A thread lift uses dissolvable threads placed under the skin to lift the mid-face and jawline without surgery. It suits early sagging.
Neck
Radiofrequency is used for skin tightening on the face and neck, usually as a course of sessions.
A treatment day
- You come in for a consultation first. Nothing is done unless you want it and it is appropriate.
- The area is cleaned and marked, and the procedure itself is carried out at the clinic.
- You can usually go back to your day, with little or no downtime.
- You return for a review, and the plan is adjusted to what your face actually did.
Aftercare
Small marks, mild swelling or bruising at injection points can occur, and they fade within days. After Botox, do not rub the area, and avoid strenuous exercise and heat for the rest of the day. If you have an event coming up, leave a few weeks for things to settle. These treatments are not done during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or over an active skin infection.

Frequently asked questions
How long does Botox last?
Typically three to four months. Fillers last longer, depending on the product and where it is placed.
When will I see the result of Botox?
It comes on gradually over several days, not straight away. That is why a review is part of the plan.
Can I go back to work after treatment?
Usually yes. Small marks at injection points can be covered once the skin has settled, but if you bruise easily, allow extra time.
Do I have to treat everything at once?
No. Many people start with the area that bothers them most. You are told what order makes sense for your face.
