Agreeing the plan
The first appointment settles three things: which technique suits your skin, roughly how many sessions you will need, and what would count as success for you. It helps to name it clearly, for example smoother texture on the cheeks, or firmer skin on the neck. A clear aim makes it far easier to review progress later on.
A mesotherapy session
Your skin is cleansed, and tiny amounts of nourishing ingredients are delivered into it. You will feel small pricks. Afterwards, expect some redness or little marks, and these usually settle within a day or two, so an evening visit is often easiest. Avoid make-up on those spots until the next day, if you can.
A radiofrequency session
A handpiece moves over the skin of the face or neck, and you feel gentle warmth. Most people find this comfortable, and the skin may look slightly flushed for a short while. There is little downtime, so you can usually carry on with your day.
How a course unfolds
- Early sessions. Skin often looks more hydrated and fresher. Changes are subtle.
- Mid-course. Texture starts to feel smoother. This is when you and the doctor check whether the plan is on track.
- End of the course. Firmness and glow are at their best, as the change builds up gradually.
- Afterwards. Occasional top-up sessions may help hold the result, depending on your skin.
Sessions are spaced a few weeks apart. Keep to the schedule where you can, since long gaps slow the progress. If you need to move a date, simply tell the clinic.
Adding other treatments
A HydraFacial or a peel can sit between sessions when your skin would benefit, and Botox or fillers can be planned alongside if lines or volume are part of your concern. The order is worked out for you, so that treatments do not get in each other's way.
Looking after your skin between visits
Keep your skin moisturised, use sunscreen daily, and avoid harsh products for a few days after each session. This treatment is not done over active infections or during pregnancy.
