Teeth Whitening in Sector 48, Gurgaon

Dental chairs at Denz Aesthetics, Sector 48, Gurgaon, where in-clinic whitening is done

Teeth whitening in Sector 48, Gurgaon at Denz Aesthetics is done in the dental chair, usually over one or two sessions, after a check that your teeth and gums are healthy enough for it. It suits teeth that have yellowed or stained with time. It will not change everything in your smile, so the first job is to find out what it can do for your teeth.

What it will and will not change

A whitening gel breaks down the stains built up in enamel from tea, coffee, tobacco and age. That works well on natural teeth that have darkened evenly. These need a different approach:

  • Crowns, veneers and fillings. They stay their original shade, so visible ones may need replacing afterwards to match.
  • Deep grey staining, such as that from certain medicines, responds poorly. Veneers or bonding can be a better answer.
  • Decay and gum problems. These are treated first, because whitening over them causes pain and wastes the result.

Your appointment

  1. The teeth and gums are examined, and your starting shade is noted.
  2. A scaling and polish clears surface deposits so that the gel reaches the enamel evenly.
  3. Gums and lips are covered, leaving only the teeth exposed.
  4. The gel goes on for set periods and is then removed.

Planning around a wedding or event

Do not leave it to the week before. Book a few weeks ahead, so there is time for a cleaning, a second session if you need one, and any filling that turns up at the check. If you are also planning skin treatment, the facial can be booked on the same floor and timed alongside it.

Why a clinic and not a shop kit

Strips and whitening toothpastes mostly lift surface stains and work slowly, and badly fitting trays can irritate the gums. In the chair, the gel is stronger and controlled, the gums are shielded, and someone has checked first that whitening is safe for your teeth.

Sensitivity, and making it last

Some people feel sensitivity for a day or two, which settles by itself. For the first couple of days, stay away from strongly coloured food and drink: tea, coffee, turmeric curries and red sauces. After that, good brushing, regular cleaning and cutting down on whatever stained your teeth will decide how long the shade holds.

Frequently asked questions

How many sessions will I need?

Usually one or two, depending on your starting shade and how much lighter you want to go.

Does whitening damage enamel?

Done professionally after a check-up, it does not damage healthy enamel. Temporary sensitivity is the common side effect.

Can I whiten my teeth during pregnancy?

It is generally put off until after pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tell the clinic when you book, and a routine cleaning can often go ahead instead.

How long do the results last?

It depends mostly on diet and habits. Heavy tea, coffee or tobacco use brings stains back sooner, and regular cleaning helps the shade hold.
